However, if you’ve recently purchased a fresh ginger root and want to keep it fresh until you use it, here’s a simple rule: store it in an airtight container or bag and place it in the refrigerator’s crisper drawer. This will help your ginger stay fresh until you’re ready to use it!
When you remove the skin from ginger, you can’t keep it fresh for a long time. So, you need to store it properly. Here’s a simple tip for that: Wrap the peeled ginger tightly with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator. By doing this, you might be able to keep the ginger fresh for up to three weeks.
Sometimes you want to prepare ahead of time by cutting up a whole ginger root, even if you won’t use all of it. But cutting it up like that makes it spoil faster. However, there’s a way to keep your minced ginger fresh for about a week. Just put it in a sealed container and store it in the refrigerator’s crisper drawer. It might not stay fresh for the full week, but it should stay somewhat fresh for a few days at least.
Remember to check for mold whenever you store ginger in the fridge. If you’re not sure, it’s better to be safe than sorry and throw it away.
