Metrolinx has declared that it’s starting a new contactless credit card payment alternative for the UP Express.
Starting March eleventh, clients can utilize their physical credit card or the credit card in their portable wallet to pay for their passage on the UP Express as a component of a pilot.
“For a similar cost as the Presto grown-up charge, UP Express clients can tap on a Presto gadget with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card or their telephone or watch with a versatile wallet like Apple Pay or Google Pay,” Metrolinx expressed in a news release.
With this new choice, clients can pay for their travel toll without stacking assets early or buying a ticket.
The organization says it’s trying these new payment choices with UP Express clients so it can additionally upgrade clients’ payment experience.
“Tapping their credit card or telephone to pay for travel is the thing that our clients have been requesting, and we’re excited to add this to the numerous client enhancements we’ve made to the Presto experience and the Presto application in the course of the most recent year,” said Fawad Ebraemi, the acting head of Presto, in the news release.
In the Spring, Metrolinx plans to add Interac Debit as a choice to pay for movement on the UP Express. Following this pilot, Presto will be turning out payment by credit, charge and portable wallets to more travel offices, like the TTC.
