In the installment titled “One False Move, Zimbabwe,” Mimi Rogers takes on the role of Robin Schmidt, Walden’s mother. Consequently, she comes to visit during the Christmas season, eager to share the holiday with her son and Alan. During her stay, Robin drops a bombshell on Walden, revealing that a gorilla is his long-lost brother. This revelation stirs up long-forgotten childhood memories in Walden’s mind. Eventually, Robin orchestrates a reunion between Walden and his newfound gorilla sibling. Meanwhile, Alan is noticeably perturbed by the entire situation, which perhaps makes him feel more “ordinary” than ever before.
Mimi Rogers is a seasoned veteran in the entertainment industry, having appeared in numerous films and television productions. However, she is perhaps best known to many as the former spouse of Tom Cruise. Their marriage, which lasted for just three years, garnered significant attention. Prior to her marriage to Tom Cruise, Mimi Rogers was wed to Jim Rogers. Since 1995, she has been happily married to producer Chris Ciaffa, a union that has now spanned nearly two decades as of 2023.
Interestingly, much like her father, Mimi Rogers was affiliated with Scientology and played a role in introducing Tom Cruise to the organization. However, her journey took a different path, as she decided to leave Scientology in 1990.
