12. Crocs
Crocs might be considered a prime example of modern advertising tactics. Their name, “Crocs,” doesn’t quite align with the simple foam clogs they actually are. This mismatch in name and product is a style error. Unlike Birkenstock sandals, Crocs won’t regain their status as a fashion trend, despite their comfort. People’s perceptions are influenced by branding, and in this case, the branding might have led to errors in style expectations.
