The men were aware that this was the riskiest part of their plan. After successfully bringing the boat onto land, they cautiously attempted to remove the cubs. However, the mother bear was nowhere in sight.
Suddenly, they spotted the mother bear charging towards the boat. She was searching for her cubs. The fishermen hurriedly returned to the boat. Although their intentions were good, it remained uncertain whether the mother bear understood their intentions.
32. Putting Their Own Lives In Danger
As the men faced away from the bear, they quickly reentered the boat. While attempting to start the motor, they could hear the bear approaching closer. Their hearts raced as they hastily drove away from the shore. It was at that moment they finally looked back.
To their surprise, the three bears were right there. They stared at the boat. The mother bear was vigilant, standing guard with her two cubs by her side. It became evident to the fishermen that this mother bear would never abandon her cubs again.
